New partnership in the precious metals recovery and refining sector: PH Investments srl acquires 49% of Refimet srl and 10% of Ecomet Refining srl
PH Investments SRL (Holding of the Legor Group) acquired 49% of Refimet SRL, a company within the Ecomet Refining SRL group (located in Spino d’Adda, Cremona), on January 24, 2022, establishing itself as a leader in the recovery and refining of precious metals. The agreement allows PH Investments the option to increase its ownership to 100% within the next 5 years through call options.
Additionally, PH Investments enters Ecomet Refining SRL by acquiring 10% of its capital, with the possibility of increasing it to 26% within the next 5 years through further call options.
With this transaction, the group further strengthens its presence in the increasingly strategic field of precious metals recovery and refining, aiming to directly control the supply chain of precious and non-precious materials, ensuring 100% traceability from circular economy and recycled sources.
Massimo Poliero (Vice President of PH Investments SRL) commented: “We are pleased with the closing of this transaction as we believe that the market related to the recovery and refining of precious and non-precious metals represents a significant opportunity for the group’s growth. It is strategic both for the possibility of using 100% recycled metals and for further developments in refining low-grade products in the electronics and industrial precious waste sectors. This partnership aligns with the group’s direction in terms of sustainability and traceability, allowing us to offer a complete service to our customers in the goldsmith, silversmith, and fashion world, both domestically and internationally.”
Alberto Tosoni (CEO and Founder of Ecomet Refining SRL and Refimet SRL) commented: “This operation is strategic for us as our business, already well-established in the industrial and electronic sectors, will have the opportunity to further expand into the jewelry, silverware, and fashion industries. The partnership with PH Investments strengthens our goal of becoming an international reference point in the field of precious metals recovery and refining, embracing the concept of circular economy and green transition. Our vision is precisely to enhance our production and commercial capacity by offering complete traceability of the entire supply chain.”
The operation (coordinated for PH Investments by CEO Carmen Poliero, legally represented by Attorney Vittorio Zattra, and for financial and tax matters by Dr. Nicola Siviero of Studio ADM and Studio Berto & Associati) allows Refimet SRL to continue its activities at the operational site in Spino d’Adda (CR); Ecomet Refining SRL will commence operations at the new headquarters and production site in Treviglio (BG) from 2023.
